Zach Jansen is a screenwriter (with a B.A. in Screenwriting from Metropolitan State University) living in the Twin Cities.
His short screenplay Treading Water won the 2011 Metropolitan State University Short Screenplay Awards (MSUSSA), was a semi-finalist in the 2011 BlueCat Screenplay Competition, and was a quarter-finalist in the 2011 FadeIn Screenplay Awards. Treading Water was subsequently optioned and produced by BlackLight Motion Pictures.
He also won the 2010 and 2012 MSUSSA for his scripts The Throw and In the Grip of Denial, respectively, and is the only three-time winner of the MSUSSA.
In 2012, his short script After I Kill Mrs. Pritchett, I'm Coming After You was produced for the Z-Fest Film Festival and won the 2Gingers Shout Out! Award. His short film Another Saturday Night was an official selection in the 2013 Highway 61 Film Festival.
His feature script The Incredible Frog Boy Is On the Loose Again! was named a Top 100 Semi-Finalist in the 2013 Table Read My Screenplay Contest, placed in the Top 10% of the 2014 BlueCat Screenplay Competition, and was a semi-finalist in the 2014 ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship.
He has had two feature screenplays optioned -- What Happened to Christine and How We Really Won the Space Race -- and did a re-write on the screenplay for Dead Mountain Road. What Happened to Christine and Dead Mountain Road are expected to begin production in 2014.
